The Christensen’s Roger, Sharon, Todd, Karen, Samantha, & Emily Roger, Sharon, Todd, Karen, Samantha, & Emily
It all started when Todd was a youngster,
Roger and Sharon took their family on vacation to different resorts from Iowa to Canada, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. The Boys
also went on hunting trips in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. It was always said around the campfire how great it would be
to run a resort for a living. After 30 years of working at John Deere’s in Waterloo,
Iowa, Roger retired temporarily to Lansing. Todd was in the Air Force for 10 years. His job took him to Arkansas where he
met Karen. They lived in Arkansas for a few years before moving to Lansing Iowa to start a Metal Stamping business with Roger
& Sharon. The whole family ran high speed punch presses and got the factory to quite a prosperous business. Once there
was an interest in a buy-out by one of our biggest customers, the dream came back. Lansing was very good to us and we will
miss the area. We left the boonies for the sticks and are loving it. We are the “Keepers”
of the resort, because we understand that, in a very real sense, this magnificent get-away belongs, in a large part, to the
families that travel here each year and find a period of peace, solitude and serenity. Our largest goal as The Keepers is
to make this a place where every one can feel like family and have a trouble free vacation on our beautiful lake and enjoy
all northern Minnesota has to offer. Interest and Hobby’s include: Roger (Gramp) is a computer whiz, developing programs for most any operation. He loves to hunt and fish (a
given) and doing most anything with his grandchildren. Captain of the minnow net, and the one who will know where the fish
are and know what you need to catch them. Todd (Chief Cook and Bottle Washer) enjoys engineering
things, which went a long way in the air force and in the stamping business. He also loves to hunt and fish and is a gun enthusiast.
He knows the makings of every gun he owns. Sharon (Grandma) is an artist with many talents.
Recently, she has found her place on the sewing machine. She makes the most beautiful quilts. She also paints and does craft’s
with her granddaughters. You will see Karen’s hobbies on your way in (Horses). Sunny,
Shady and Shy all moved to Iowa back in ‘96 and now, along with a few additions will move to Minnesota in 2007. She
loves riding the trails, and team-penning and just being around these wonderful animals. Samantha
(Sammy), aged 7 loves everything about horses. She is doing great in school. loves to dance and sing. She wants to be
a singer-song writer when she grows up. She will be the red head that talks your ears off. Emily
(4)also takes after mom and loves her pony, Candy. She is also a princess and wants to be treated as such. She loves to dance
and is taking lessons with her sister. She is the shy one with the long eye lashes and big smile. 2007
went wonderfuly. Thank you all for teaching us the ropes and letting us be a part of you vacation. We have
concerd yet another year. Thanks to all of you we made it through another season. This year was much slower then
we had hoped. but with that we have gotten a lot of things done that needed doing. But not as much as we had hoped do to the
limited funds. I am sure things will pick up for next year. Thanks bunches. The Christensen's Thank you the Christensen's After 30 years of working at John Deere’s in Waterloo, Iowa, Roger retired temporarily to Lansing. Todd
